July 2009 sees the start of the construction of a new road into the safe self storage yard at Haslingden Rrossendale lancashire.This massive prodject is to be installed in six inch deep air entrained fibercrete and will need a substantial sub base, as we excavate we encounter old drains mains water a labyrinth of communications cables and ducts,but with the careful eyes of our civil engineers the task runs smoothly,
whilst working along side with the cc tv engineers and security access systems controllers, our driveway paving preparation continues at speed and with the import of road stone from marshals quarry at ramsbottom, we are now ready to construct the sub base the new drainage as been set as have the edgings gully's and pipe work, we now need to compact our mot sub base,as the heavy usage of this new road by forty ton trucks daily means the the sub base is paramount to the success of the project.As the first twenty five ton concrete mixer arrives and backs up over our preparation,the concrete road subase stands up to our rigged standards,and the concrete pour begins
With three key men raking the concrete level,and two floating we are soon ready to add the color hardner to the floated concrete .Having waited some three hours we are ready to apply the release
and set to imprint the concrete road using hand tools mats and a load of experience the first section
